Journal quilts, 2011
The brief this year is that the quilts are 10" square, with a series of required components - circles for the first four, text for the next four, and buttons for the final four. My quiltlets each use all the components.
To give the series some unity, I pre-selected most of the fabrics in the black-white-grey-red colour range.
The series is called "Small Words", as the text component of the quilts - and their titles - is usually a short word, one of the un-noticed words that are the glue of language and often add the all-important nuance.
