Fundraising (Little Gem Quilts and Bookwrap Gems)

In 2009, Contemporary Quilt ran a tombola at Festival of Quilts that raised over £10,000 for the Quilt Museum in York. I was part of the team that set up a website for this project and encouraged quilters across the UK - and internationally - to make and contribute an A4-sized quiltlet. These were raffled at the festival, with the help of many enthusiastic volunteers.

In 2013, CQ was asked to run the tombola again, and this time we made "Bookwrap Gems", again with the the help of enthusiastic volunteers (http://bookwrapgems.wordpress.com/). With some weeks to go till Festival of Quilts (August 8-11), I'm still busy sewing.
