Journal quilts
Contemporary Quilt started its journal quilt project in 2007, with some 30 participants - now, many times that number take part.
Through this project I've discovered that I like working small (and quickly) and in series - and it has reinforced how useful it is to have a deadline. At first, it took me a long time to decide what to do each month, though when a technique or subject appealed, I made several on the theme.
In some years, one of the requirements was that the quilts all be on the same theme; other years, other requirements were added, eg there must be a word on the quilt.
2007 - A4 (letter) size
2008 - 12" square
2009 - 6" x 12"
2010 - 7" x 10"
2011 - 10" square
2012 - A4 size
2013 - 12" x 8"
2014 - 8" square
