Journal quilts, 2012

The rules for this year's challenge specified that the first four are to contain (approximately) 75% red, the second four 75% yellow, and the final four 75% blue.

The series is called "Stellar Sunrise" because the black circles evoke suns or planets in extraterrestrial skies. The individual quilts are named after constellations. Circles of black paper are inserted under strips of fabric as each new strip is added, or put onto strips as they are machine quilted.
